We have a lawn in my ancestral property in Kerala created by my mom. My dad called a gardener one year ago and gave him a pattern on how to make a lawn. We put 9 loads of red earth for the lawn. After that we spread the mud. And then we started growing grass from all the 4 sides of the lawn. . This is how the lawn was formed. In our lawn we have beautiful flowers and nice plants...

Madapad since 1905

Image
Madapad is the name of my home located in North Parur (Ernakulam district in Kerala). It was built by my great great grandfather in the year 1905. There are 5 generations that have lived over here. We have a central courtyard with a lawn created by my mom last year. After that we have  a walkway to the bridge steps created by my great grandfather in the year 1955. People used to climb those steps and come visit my home for many decades.  As a child i remember i used to go to school climbing those steps. But now there is no access to the gate because my dad put a gate there after my grand mom passed away.

Bridge steps since 1955

The bridge steps were built by my great grandfather in the year 1955. For many years, people used to often climb these bridge steps and visit my home. We have a walkway to and from the bridge. Like that in the old days, people used to come and go. In my childhood, I remember going to school climbing those bridge steps. But now there is no access to the bridge because after my grand mom passed away, my dad kept a gate over there. In 2019, my mom painted it white in color. One thing I should mention is that we have a river as well that flows till Varapuzha (Ernakulam district in Kerala).
